UNIFY — Unit for Family, Diversity & Equality About us

UNIFY is the central institution at Heidelberg University for issues of family support, diversity and equality. Its goals, tasks, measures and activities correspond to the legal mandate and strategic goals of the Excellence Strategy.

Vision: UNIFY aims to bring about a cultural change at Heidelberg University towards fair, equitable and participatory interaction among its members, which would be reflected in all areas: strategies, selection procedures and management behaviour.

Our strategic goals are based on the three pillars of UNIFY:

  1. Reconciling study, work, or research with family/care  in all areas of the university.
  2. Representing and integrating diversity dimensions in all areas and valuing difference without discrimination.
  3. Achieving equal representation of women at all qualification levels and at all management and decision-making levels.
