UNIFY — Unit for Family, Diversity & Equality About us

UNIFY is the key institution at Heidelberg University for issues such as balancing work and family life, diversity, equality and anti-discrimination.

Its goals, tasks and measures are in line with its legal mandate and the strategic goals of the Excellence Strategy. Vision: UNIFY aims to bring about a cultural change at Heidelberg University towards fair, equal and participatory interaction that is reflected in all areas, strategies, selection procedures and leadership behaviour.

Our strategic goals are based on the three pillars of UNIFY:

  1. Reconciliation of studies, career or research with family/caring responsibilities is put into practice in all areas of the university.
  2. Aspects of diversity are represented and integrated in all areas and are valued without discrimination.
  3. Equal representation of women at all qualification levels and in all management and decision-making positions has been achieved.
