Framework LEGAL BASIS

The University of Heidelberg is committed to behaviour based on partnership, guarantees equal and respectful cooperation between its members and staff at all functional levels and promotes measures to create and maintain a working atmosphere conducive to this.

The law provides impetus for the further improvement of equal opportunities for women and men. The aim is to eliminate the structural causes of the underrepresentation of women in the academic system.

Higher education institutions within the meaning of this Act are universities, universities of education, universities of the arts, universities of applied sciences and other educational institutions that are state higher education institutions under federal state law. This Act also applies to state-recognised higher education institutions, insofar as this is stipulated in § 70.
