Governance und commitment

Legal foundations, measures and stakeholders work together at Heidelberg University to ensure that respectful and discrimination-sensitive interaction is successful.

At Heidelberg University, diverse people interact with each other through teaching, research and work. The diversity of its members promotes inspiration - a positive creative spirit that is a vital desire at universities! In order to ensure openness and respect for all people in many possible points of contact, universities are obliged by their identity, but also by law, to manage incidents of conflict and misconduct.

Established preventative structures and processes are just as effective as agile concepts and target plans in dealing reactively with specific concerns of those seeking advice.

The Senate Guideline on Fair Conduct applies to all members and affiliates of the University in accordance with Section 9 of the Higher Education Act (LHG) in conjunction with Section 4 of the Basic Regulations. § Section 4 of the Constitution of Heidelberg University.
