Nurseries

The nurseries INF 685 and Humboldtstraße 17 are facilities run by Studierendwerk Heidelberg and are located near the campus. They care for children between the ages of two months and three years. Fifty childcare places are available at the two facilities for university employees.

The nurseries are open all year round. Childcare is available Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It is open all year round except on weekends, public holidays, a few days around the turn of the year, and two teacher training days. Children currently receive meals free of charge from the Studierendenwerk Heidelberg. The monthly childcare fee is income-based and currently ranges between €450 and €550.

Nursery concept: The children are looked after by experienced staff. Each child has their own key worker and ‘their’ group, with whom they spend the day, providing them with a sense of security and safety. The daily routine has a fixed rhythm and the children are given a wide variety of stimuli that contribute to the harmonious development of their motor skills, language acquisition, cognitive and social abilities. Individual parent-teacher meetings are held.
