CALL FOR APPLICATIONS OLYMPIA MORATA PROGRAMME

UNIFY advises and informs young female scientists about research funding programmes of Heidelberg University, the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts and other science funding institutions that are particularly aimed at women. One funding programme for female researchers is the Olympia Morata Programme (OMP) at Heidelberg University.

PROGRAMME

The aim of the Olympia Morata Programme is to support above-average female postdoctoral researchers (i.e. FLINTA*) with outstanding qualification projects in the R2 phase (doctorate should not date back more than approx. 3-4 years). The acronym FLINTA* stands for women, lesbians, intersexual, non-binary, trans and agender persons.

The funding period is usually 2 years. The programme is advertised once a year towards the end of the year. Funding begins on 1 March of each year. 

The funding comprises five modules (as illustrated in the figure below):

  1. partial financial support for your own position (usually based on a half-time position according to pay grade 13/TV-L); it is expected that the institutes where you work will also provide a half-time position (EG 13/TV-L) or personnel resources;
  2. coaching, counselling and career development meetings;
  3. network (meetings);
  4. further education and courses and
  5. eligibility to apply to the Family Disposal Fund

Candidates are selected through an evaluation of the applications received by an award committee.

OLYMPIA MORATA PROGRAMME OF THE MEDICAL FACULTY OF HEIDELBERG

Female doctors at Heidelberg University also have the opportunity to apply for positions in the Heidelberg Medical Faculty's programme of the same name: Olympia Morata Programme of the Medical Faculty. We recommend that female doctors attend a counselling appointment at the Office of the Dean of Research at the Heidelberg Medical Faculty before submitting an application and find out about the different application deadlines.
