Programme

With the Brigitte Schlieben Lange Programme, the state of Baden-Württemberg aims to support young female academics and artists with child(ren) in qualifying for a professorship and thus offer them greater planning security during the qualification period. The funding programme is divided into three different lines, whereby only funding line I is relevant for female academics at Heidelberg University.

This funding line is aimed at women with child(ren) who are employed at a university and are in the postdoc phase. Female academics can be funded for up to two years in an employment relationship in the TV-L EG 13 or 14 salary group. As a rule, the MWK funds an employment relationship of 50 per cent of a full-time equivalent. The supervising university must fund at least 25 per cent of a full-time position. The university's share of the funding is to be financed by the respective institute of the funded researcher. It is expected that the necessary basic equipment, including the required material resources, will be provided by the university (see guidelines for funding line I).

Applications for funding must be submitted to the Equal Opportunities Office at Heidelberg University.

The applications to be funded are selected by a central committee in which the MWK, representatives of the state conferences of Equal Opportunities Commissioners and external experts participate.

We recommend that applicants seek advice from UNIFY, particularly with regard to the formal requirements for submitting an application.

If you have any questions or need assistance with your application, please contact Carmen Waiblinger (carmen.waiblinger@uni-heidelberg.de).
